These were by far the coolest peace pole grouping I've come across in my 2 years of waymarking. It consists of three 10-foot tall white plastic poles with white caps at the top and painted black at the bottom. They sit around a small bush with a plaque and mulch outside of the city offices of Southfield at 26000 Evergreen Rd, Southfield, MI 48076.The plaque reads:
May Peace Prevail on Earth International
Amig@s de la Paz sustainability Award - 2020
In partnership with the City of Southfield MLK Taks Force
Proudly recognizes the City of Southfield, Michigan, USA
as an Amig@s de la Paz Sustainability Award winner for 2020,
the first city in the United States to receive this distinction
Each pole is four sided with two languages on each facet. A nice add-on here is not only is the traditional message displayed but the name of the language used is embossed above it. In all there are 24 languages represented which I was excited to discover as my personal high.
Languages: Mandarin Chinese, Korean, French, Finnish, English, Hebrew, Portuguese, Chaldean, Vietnamese, Sign Language, Greek, Polish, Aramaic, Bengali, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, Swahili, Armenian, Arabic, Swedish, Russian, Hindi, German
