Lacort estima que fueron en su origen cisternas para almacenar agua; las Minas, como las llaman en el pueblo, están formadas por doce cámaras cubiertas con bóvedas de medio cañón y distribuídas en tres naves paralelas, con aberturas circulares en la parte superior.
Detrás del cementerio se ha excavado la parte inferior de un gran edificio público romano, que P. J. Lacort considera un criptopórtico que pudo utilizarse como almacén."
