ES: "Se dan el nombre de bailío al caballero profeso de la Orden de San Juan que, por antigüedad o gracia especial del gran maestre de la Orden, adquiría una especie de dignidad o encomienda denominada bailiaje. Estas casas pertenecieron a las familias Corbacho y Cárcamo, pasando en el siglo XVI a fray Pedro Núñez de Herrera, bailío de Lora, hijo de Alonso Fernández de Córdoba, quinto señor de Aguilar. Ocupan un gran solar y tienen dos accesos, uno por la calle Ramírez de Arellano y otro por la Cuesta del Bailío. En su interior, entre otras cosas destacables, se conservan pinturas murales con episodios de la vida del Gran Capitán y una sala neoárabe diseñada por Agustín Vicente Inurria y Julio Romero de Torres. La portada del Bailío, de hacia 1530, se atribuye a Hernán Ruiz el Viejo. La propiedad se halla dividida en la actualidad entre la Fundación Roger Garaudy y un lujoso complejo hotelero."

EN:The name bailío is given to the professed knight of the Order of St. John who, by antiquity or special grace of the Grand Master of the Order, acquired a kind of dignity or encomienda called bailiaje. These houses belonged to the Corbacho and Cárcamo families, passing in the 16th century to Fray Pedro Núñez de Herrera, bailiff of Lora, son of Alonso Fernández de Córdoba, fifth lord of Aguilar. They occupy a large plot of land and have two accesses, one on Ramírez de Arellano Street and another on the Cuesta del Bailío. Inside, among other remarkable things, there are wall paintings with episodes from the life of the Great Captain and a neo-Arab room designed by Agustín Vicente Inurria and Julio Romero de Torres. The cover of the Bailío, from around 1530, is attributed to Hernán Ruiz the Elder. The property is currently divided between the Roger Garaudy Foundation and a luxurious hotel complex."
