– Height: approx. 13 m, 6 m in the shoulder area
– Weight: between 28 and 80 t
Occurrence:
– Location: North America (Colorado, Utah, Wyoming), possibly also Africa (Algeria, Tanzania), (however, according to some scientists, the African species may belong to a separate genus - see below)
– Time: Late Jurassic
Appearance: Large sauropod with forelimbs longer than hind legs, small head, long neck, and relatively short tail
Diet: Like other sauropods, it ate plants
Bone: A brachiosaurus femur weighed about 100 kg and was 2 m long
