Located in rural Florida in the community of Bowling Green at 4050 Highway 17 is the Smokin Joe’s BBQ and more restaurant. This BBQ has been located here for decades. Don’t expect anything fancy or 5 star service. When you enter the building go up to the counter and place your order from the menu board on the wall, pay for your meal and sit either outside at the picnic tables or inside at the mismatched tables and chairs. When your meal is ready they will bring it out to you in white styrofoam clam shells. You can get your napkins, plastic ware, condiments and sauces from a table by the door. Nothing fancy about this place for sure. BUT, the BBQ is some of the best in the state. The place doesn’t look like much from the road but do stop in and enjoy the BBQ. And if there is still room for desert be sure to check out their hard pack ice cream cones, cups and sundaes.
