The ALT School House was built in Ellisville MO in the 1860's. It become part of the Rockwood School District and was in use until 1950. It was relocated to Faust Park.
I think that ALT was a persons name not an abbreviation for Alternate. Alternate schools were probably not a thing in 1860.
