"Tom Fecht's work, which consists of stones embedded in the ground - some with names, some with crosses or no inscriptions - commemorates the people of Essen who died of AIDS. After two extensions, the stones now contain nearly 50 names of Essen citizens. The work of art is very important for the queer community in Essen."
