North Leverett Baptist Church was founded in July of 1767 as the Baptist Church of Leverett and Montague. The present church was built in 1835 on land donated by Rufus Fitts. The church was remodeled in 1867. In the 1960s and 1970s the annex was added and the steeple was replaced. (visit link)

The Greek Revival style church has a central entrance with a fan shaped top which is flanked by a pair of 4 by 6 pane double hung windows. Above each window is a space then a 4 by 2 pane windows. Above, the pediment has a small louvered window in the center.

Rising from the gable roof is a square tower topped by an octagonal cupola with double windows on each side and a a dome. The east side has three large rectangular windows and a protruding auxiliary entrance under the first window. An Addition is connected to the back of the church. Whe west side has an addition with an auxiliary entrance at the last bay.
