The town hall of La Serena (Illustre Municipalidad de La Serena) occupies the same magnificent building as the courthouse, but its entrance is on Arturo Prat, while that of the courthouse is on Los Carrera.

La Serena coat of arms shield depicts a stone building with two towers that looks like a fort.
