"The 20,000 square meter roll call area, located between the camp gate and the barracks, was the central square of the camp. The machine guns of the guard towers ensured its guarding, loudspeakers provided sound and floodlights bathed it in glaring light in the morning and evening hours. Thousands of prisoners had to march here day after day."
