The greatest tragedy in Bossier City history struck on September 3, 1963, when three city employees descended a ladder into a sewer main to perform needed work. Two were overcome by sewer gas; the third was able to call for help. Two firefighters also perished during the rescue operation. This magnolia tree was planted in front of Bossier City Fire Station #6 in honor of those who perished. The old fire house is now the Flying Heart brew pub, which has taken care to preserve both the old magnolia tree and the dedication plaque.
Location of the tree: Flying Hearts Brew Pub
 Type of tree: Magnolia
