El Tanatorio de Palencia está construido sobre una parcela abierta de 6.492 metros cuadrados situada frente al Cementerio Municipal de Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles, y contiguo al Complejo deportivo “Pan y Guindas” y al Estadio Municipal “Nueva Balastera”.

Tiene una amplia entrada a la que se accede a un patio central que sirve como distribuidor que da cceso a las 10 salas de vela, así como a la Recepción y Administración, Capilla-Oratorio, Columbario, Floristería, Cafetería, etc.

En el exterior cuenta con un Jardín del Recuerdo (espacio verde para el esparcimiento de las cenizas del fallecido), al que se le ha añadido un conjunto escultórico, que recibe el título de 'Monumento inacabado' y que está realizado en gran parte con esas cenizas que se han venido conservando en los almacenes.
