Much has changed in this area since the metal rod was set, and the 1985 NGS description is only vaguely representative of the what the area looks like now given Gillette's rapid growth over the last few decades. There are no longer any graveled roads in the vicinity, and there is no fence near the mark, as the 1985 description indicates. My modified description is as follows:
From the junction of West 4-J Road, South 4-J Road, and Enzi Drive at the traffic light (South 4-J Road and Enzi Drive are the same road, but change names at this intersection), drive west on West 4-J road for 400 feet and the metal rod on the south side of the road. Parking can be found in a dirt pull-in area directly to the east of the metal rod. The mark is about 50 feet to the southeast of the centerline at the bend in West 4-J Road and about 80 feet north of Donkey Creek. It is in-between a fiberglass witness post and a T-post, and the access cover is flush with the surface of the ground.
