This beautiful altar is located by the road, at the east approach to Monte das Soeiras, a small hamlet in Southern Portugal. This is a region of human desertification as the population slowly fled towards the big cities or more active regions. In this place something like 60 persons used to love. Now? 3 old citizens call it home.
The altar is impecably maintained by the local administration and has an inscription refering its date of construction: 15th May 1937. C.M.A. is a reference to the muncipality, Câmara Municipal de Almodôvar.
