It is located at the top of the Gibralfaro Castle, in Malaga.
It is attached to a wall of the fortress, it is excavated in solid rock and has a depth of 40 m. The water went by metamorphic rocks.

"If we consult the RAE dictionary for the noun well, we will find that, associated with the proper name Airón, it means: Well or chasm of great depth. Colloquially, a place where if something is lost, it disappears without any hope of recovering it, or it is forgotten. The well in question is from the Greek-Phoenician period. Thus, we find ourselves before one of the oldest original elements of the fortress, possibly a contemporary of the lighthouse or luminary that everyone points out that must have presided over the hill and that, ultimately, gave it its name, Jebl-Faruk."
