IN HONOR OF ALL VETERANS WHO HAVE SERVED AND CONTINUE TO SERVE OUR COUNTRY DURING TIMES OF PEACE AND WAR AND IN LOVING MEMORY TO THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THAT SERVICE

A plaque set in the concrete nearby reads:
THIS MEMORIAL IS A PLACE FOR REFLECTION TO REMEMBER AND HONOR THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO PROUDLY SERVED AND PROTECTED OUR COUNTRY

 Description of Memorial: The memorial is a square plaza in the northeast corner of the courthouse square. The plaza is comprised of engraved pavers bearing the names of veterans and the branches in which they served. A black granite monument bears the first section of text shown above, and also displays the seals of the Five Armed Services. Stone benches are on either side of that monument. A plaque set in the concrete bears the second text given above. Six flagpoles - the tallest carrying the U.S. Flag, and the others the five flags of the services, completes this memorial.
