De Amazonica dome van Diergaarde Blijdorp vormt het onderkomen van talloze planten en dieren uit het regenwoud van de Amazone. De dakconstructie wordt gevormd door een geodetische koepel met een vrije overspanning van 56 meter. Door de slimme connector van Adviesbureau Lüning is het mogelijk om de koepelconstructie zonder ondersteuningsconstructie op te bouwen (vrije uitbouwmethode). Het dak bestaat uit ribben van hout en is bekleed met translucente, driehoekige luchtkussens. De koepel is gebouwd in 2013.

The Amazonica dome of Diergaarde Blijdorp is home to countless plants and animals from the rainforest of the Amazon. The roof construction is formed by a geodesic dome with a free span of 56 metres. Thanks to the smart connector from Consultancy Lüning, it is possible to build the dome construction without a support construction (free expansion method). The roof consists of wooden ribs and is covered with translucent, triangular air cushions. The dome was built in 2013.
