Located in the rural community of Brownville just north of Arcadia, Florida is the Brownville Park. This park is just off of Highway 17 and is on the Peace River.
It consists of 24 campsites. Twelve campsites have electricity and water and the remaining twelve have water only. A dump station is available for campers. A shower house with toilets is also on site. Campsites have picnic tables, fire pits and a raised charcoal or wood grill.
There is a boat ramp for small boats, canoes, kayaks and float tubes with access to the Peace River. This park is one of two Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trails in the county and is a very popular spot for fossil hunters seeking sharks teeth from the river.
Campsites are by reservation only by phoning 863-491-5333. Costs are $22.10 for tents and $33.15 for RVs or electric sites. No credit cards accepted, cash only in EXACT AMOUNT. No change available. 14 day stay limit.
NOTE: This park has very low overhanging oak trees in the tent camping area, excessively tall rigs will have difficulty parking in the tent camping area but should have no problem in the RV sites.
