[FR] L'édifice, oeuvre de l'architecte Lassus, a été élevé en 1844 et reconstruit de 1850 à 1869. Cette église est conçue dans l'esprit néo-gothique, synthétisant les principales cathédrales pour composer la cathédrale idéale. Le plan des 13e et XIVe siècles comporte une nef à trois travées et bas-côtés, un choeur à déambulatoire et chapelles rayonnantes ainsi qu'un transept non saillant. La façade principale, avec ses trois portails sculptés, et le chevet sont une résurgence de l'esprit gothique. Les tympans historiés reprennent le thème du Sacré-Coeur. L'intérieur présente un triforium à trois niveaux, une chaire néo-gothique et des chapelles ornées.
[EN] The building, the work of the architect Lassus, was built in 1844 and rebuilt from 1850 to 1869. This church was conceived in the neo-Gothic spirit, synthesizing the main cathedrals to compose the ideal cathedral. The 13th and 14th century plan includes a nave with three bays and aisles, a choir with an ambulatory and radiating chapels, and a non-projecting transept. The main façade, with its three sculpted portals, and the chevet are a resurgence of the Gothic spirit. The historiated tympanums take up the theme of the Sacred Heart. The interior features a three-level triforium, a neo-Gothic pulpit and ornate chapels.
