In honour of the 150 years anniversary of Blijdorp in 2013 a special polar bear statue was revealed.

NL In het ijsberenverblijf van Diergaarde Blijdorp staat een bronzen beeld van een spelend ijsbeerjong. Het heet ‘Jonge IJsbeer’ en het is gemaakt in 2008 door Ineke Roelfzema. Het is aan de dierentuin geschonken door de Vrienden van Blijdorp in 2013 ter ere van het 150-jarig bestaan van de dierentuin. Een mooi speels beeld.

ENG In the polar bear enclosure of Diergaarde Blijdorp there is a bronze statue of a playing polar bear cub. It is called 'Young Polar Bear' and it was made in 2008 by Ineke Roelfzema. It was donated to the zoo by the Friends of Blijdorp in 2013 in honor of the zoo's 150th anniversary. A nice playful statue.
