The Chanute Public Library and the Martin and Osa Johnson Safari Musuem are both housed in the historic Chanute Santa Fe Depot, a large red-brick building in the northwest quadrant of town. There are a number of exhibits outside the building, including a caboose. As part of the larger Kansas Library System, they offer a full range of library services, including interlibrary loan and access to online resources.
