This Prairie Demonstration Trail, planted and mainatined by the Kansas Highway Department, is at a rest area on Highway 169 north of Cherryvale. A sign at the trailhead states that the purpose of the trail is to increase awareness of the prairie ecosystem, and lists the native grasses and wildflowers planted here to re-create the Kansas prairie. The paved trail is about 800' long. Signs along the trail describe the flora in view.
