The sluice gate at Colvin Run Mill controls the water flow to lower or increase the speed of the mill. The sluice gate is at the upper entrance of the mill and available from sunrise to sunset daily.
The construction on Route 7 in the 1930s negated the flow of water from Colvin Run and the water flow is now artificially produced.
