The lighthouse stands in the parking area of The Lighthouse Plaza along Library Road (Rt 88), Castle Shannon. It stands approximately 30' tall and 6' diameter. Painted bright red and white it is hard to miss. It has a working light shielded by a lantern pane. The surface felt like concrete or a Stucco type material. The lighthouse serves as a signpost with the names of the businesses operating out of the plaza.

The nearest navigable water might be the Monongahela River, over five miles away. Not likely this lighthouse is tall enough to be seen from the river.
