Along the Saale there are countless high water marks that remind of the most diverse flood events. And everywhere the flood of 1799 is the worst. This is also the case at Niemöllerplatz in Weißenfels, where the high water marks are located at the base of the "Saalebrücke". There are a total of ten flood levels from 230 years (1764 to 1994). Except for one "water level", which is considered unknown, all have been dated exactly. You read from top to bottom

Entlang der Saale finden sich unzählige Hochwassermarken, die an die verschiedensten Hochwasserereignisse erinnern. Und überall ist das Hochwasser von 1799 das schlimmste. So verhält es sich auch am Niemöllerplatz in Weißenfels, wo sich die Hochwassermarken am Brückenansatz der "Saalebrücke" befinden. Insgesamt sind es zehn Hochwasserstände aus 230 Jahren (1764 bis 1994). Bis auf eine "Wasserhöhe", die als unbekannt gilt, sind alle exakt datiert worden. Von oben nach unten liest man die oben dargestellten Daten.
