This Statue of Liberty is on the west side of Highway 9, north of Harlan, Kansas. The statue base is a replica of the star-shaped pedestal on Bedloe Island in New York Harbor. A plaque at the statue indicates that it was a gift from the Boy Scouts of America.
NGC 3576 is known as The Statue of Liberty Nebula. As viewed from Earth, the nebula forms an outline of Lady Liberty holding her torch aloft.
