Liberia is a historic two-story brick plantation house that was built about 1825 by Harriet Bladen Mitchel Weir and William James Weir. This property had once sat on 1,660 acres.

Before the Civil War, the plantation was one of the largest in Prince William County. There were herds of Merion sheep, horses, cattle, and hogs raised as well as grain production. They had roughly 80 slaves working the property at its highest point.

During the war Liberia became the headquarters and a hospital for General P.G.T. Beauregard, CSA during the First Battle of Bull Run. Decades after the Civil War in 1888, the property was sold to Robert Portner, who developed the property into a dairy operation. It then sold to the Breeden family in the 1970's and then sold to the City of Manassas in 1986 and has since been preserved for historic and educational purposes.
