Het stadhuis of raadhuis is een stadhuisgebouw gelegen aan de Voorstraat in de plaats Vianen in de Nederlandse provincie Utrecht. Het uit de 15e eeuw stammende gebouw is door de tijd heen veelvuldig verbouwd en uitgebreid, maar de voorgevel is bij de restauratie in 1960 grotendeels gereconstrueerd. Het pand is één van de drie bezoekadressen van de in 2019 gevormde gemeente Vijfheerenlanden.

Vianen ontving in 1336 stadsrechten van Willem van Duivenvoorde. Het stadhuis werd echter pas in het begin van de 15e eeuw gebouwd, bestaand uit één laag met een kap en trapgevels. In 1473 werd het gebouw met ongeveer zes meter verhoogd en werd de kenmerkende voorgevel van Namense steen voor het gebouw geplaatst, voorzien van waterlijsten, kantelen en gotisch maaswerk. Naast de stedelijke overheid had ook de rechtspraak plaats in het gebouw. De lage rechtspraak vond plaats in het achterste deel van het gebouw, en op de eerste verdieping was de Kamer van Justitie gevestigd.

Vanwege de vervallen staat van het gebouw werden tussen 1733 en 1737 grootschalige aanpassingen gedaan, waarbij onder meer de kantelen van de voorgevel werden verwijderd. In 1786 werd het naastgelegen pand, de Hoofdwacht, aangekocht en op de begane grond met het stadhuis verbonden. In 1839 vonden herstelwerkzaamheden plaats en werden intern diverse wijzigingen gedaan. In het gebouw werden gevangeniscellen ingebouwd.

Nadat in 1925 het pand wederom in vervallen staat verkeerde, vond een grootschalige renovatie plaats tussen 1926 en 1929. Ook de Hoofdwacht werd verbouwd. Bij de renovatie tussen de jaren 1956 en 1960 werd onder meer de voorgevel gereconstrueerd. Hierbij werden overigens vijf kantelen geplaatst, terwijl op de tekening van Cornelis Pronk uit ca. 1735 zeven kantelen getekend waren. Onderdelen van het voormalige gasthuis achter het stadhuis, waaronder de kapel, werden verbouwd en bij het stadhuis getrokken.

Tussen 1981 en 1984 vond een uitbreiding plaats, waarbij het naastgelegen pand (met destijds nummer 30) helemaal onderdeel werd van het stadhuis, maar ook de monumentale gebouwen op nummer 32 en 34. Het oude gebouw en de uitbreiding zijn verbonden door een glazen bouwschil.

The city hall or justice hall is a town hall building located on the Voorstraat in the town of Vianen in the Dutch province of Utrecht. The building, dating from the 15th century, has been extensively renovated and expanded over time, but the facade was largely reconstructed during the restoration in 1960. The building is one of three visiting addresses of the municipality of Vijfheerenlanden, which was formed in 2019.

Vianen received city rights in 1336 from Willem van Duivenvoorde. However, the town hall was not built until the beginning of the 15th century, consisting of one layer with a roof and stepped gables. In 1473 the building was raised by about six meters and the characteristic facade of Namur stone was placed in front of the building, with water frames, battlements and Gothic tracery. In addition to the city government, the administration of justice also took place in the building. The lower court took place in the rear part of the building, and the Chamber of Justice was located on the first floor.

Due to the dilapidated state of the building, large-scale adjustments were made between 1733 and 1737, including the removal of the battlements from the facade. In 1786, the adjacent building, the Hoofdwacht, was purchased and connected to the town hall on the ground floor. Repairs were carried out in 1839 and various changes were made internally. Prison cells were built into the building.

After the building was again in a dilapidated state in 1925, a large-scale renovation took place between 1926 and 1929. The Hoofdwacht was also renovated. During the renovation between 1956 and 1960, the facade was reconstructed, among other things. Incidentally, five battlements were placed here, while seven battlements were drawn on the drawing by Cornelis Pronk from ca. 1735. Parts of the former guest house behind the town hall, including the chapel, were renovated and added to the town hall.

An extension took place between 1981 and 1984, whereby the adjacent building (number 30 at the time) became an integral part of the town hall, as well as the monumental buildings at numbers 32 and 34. The old building and the extension are connected by a glass building envelope.
