Minnie the Minx is depicted in a bronze statue in the High Street of the Scottish city of Dundee, chasing down the larger bronze of Desperate Dan and his Dawg with a catapult (missing strings), which was erected in 2001 at a cost of £72,000, cast at Powderhall Foundry as part of the Dundee Public Art Programme.
Minnie the Minx, real name Hermione Makepeace, is a cartoon character from the Beano comic, created by Leo Baxendale and first appeared in the comic on December 19th 1953. She was created as a female rival to Dennis the Menace, also donning the same red and black hooped jersey.
