Jumail is one of the villages which was gradually abandoned in the early 70's. These communities were once the main pilar of Qatari economy, when pearl collecting was paramount for the emirate. Then oil came and everything changed. Pearl picking is now something from the past as it's all related with that bygone era.
The place is free to visit an quiet atmospheric although not so big. The former mosque is specially interesting and seems to have been somehow renovated.
Access is easy. The asphalt road is just a couple hundred meters away.
