The Showground is a permanent location for the annual show and is used for a wide variety of activities throughout the year. The exhibitors and contestants have to qualify to participate at one of the local and regional events held through the year.
Popular activities are the showing of agricultural animals including sheep, cattle and horses, tests of skill such as wood chopping and horse riding.
The show also attracts a wide range of people who enjoy activities such as petting zoos and rides.
One other highlight is the sale of show bags which were originally to show samples of products but now are for a wide range of entertainment and activities.
