This turtle was seen on the edge of the Scotia Range Road in Pennsylvania Game Lands. There is a section of this road marked as a reptile and amphibian crossing area. The turtle had a fractured shell above the right front leg. It was facing north on the edge of the east side of the pavement. There is a pond a few hundred feet to the east of where we spotted this snapper. We herded the turtle further off the side of the road before leaving the area.
