"This building was designed by the prestigious Memphis firm of Hanker and Heyer, which already had completed over 40 bank buildings. The bank occupied the basement and the first two floors, while other tenants in the high-profile building included law firms, a real estate management firm, accountants and insurance agencies. Memphis Bank and Trust merged with Nashville-based First American Bank in 1983 and the bank offices were occupied by others. The building is still used for office space." (
