"Restaurant De Watermolen heeft een vermelding in de Michelingids met een Bib Gourmand en twee bestekjes. De Watermolen is al meer dan 55 jaar in handen van de familie Kluit en behaalde diverse eervolle vermeldingen.

In 1924 werd de molen als historisch monument door de gemeente Rheden aangekocht. Men kon echter geen definitieve bestemming vinden waardoor de molen steeds meer in verval geraakte. Het gebouw werd in 1961 door brand grotendeels verwoest.

In 1965 stelde de gemeenteraad van Rheden een krediet beschikbaar waarna het volgende jaar met de restauratie werd begonnen. Het herstel, waarvoor ook door rijk en provincie subsidies waren verstrekt, kwam einde 1966 gereed (vgl. H. Kerkkamp, De Van-Lennepsmolen uit puin en as herrezen, Uitg. Oud- heidkundige Kring Rheden-Rozendaal, 1967). Het drijfwerk van de watermolen bevindt zich in een afgescheiden gedeelte van het molengebouw, dat verder als taveerne is ingericht.

Vanaf 1967 is de Familie Kluit (huidige uitbaters) eigenaar van het pand en fungeert de Watermolen als restaurant."

"Restaurant De Watermolen is mentioned in the Michelin guide with a Bib Gourmand and two cutlery. De Watermolen has been in the hands of the Kluit family for more than 55 years and has received several honorable mentions.

In 1924 the mill was purchased as a historical monument by the municipality of Rheden. However, no definitive destination could be found, so that the mill increasingly fell into disrepair. The building was largely destroyed by fire in 1961.

In 1965, the city council of Rheden made a loan available, after which the restoration started the following year. The restoration, for which subsidies had also been provided by the state and the province, was completed at the end of 1966 (cf. H. Kerkkamp, De Van-Lennepsmolen resurrected from rubble and ashes, Uitg. Oudheidkundige Kring Rheden-Rozendaal, 1967). The driving mechanism of the water mill is located in a separate part of the mill building, which is also furnished as a tavern.

Since 1967, the Kluit family (current owners) owns the building and the Watermolen functions as a restaurant."
