According to the local website:
"The walk-in house in Assen will remain at its current location at Brink 42 for the coming years.
The Salvation Army will take over the institution from Cosis from 1 January next year. The care organization stops because they could not agree with the municipality on a number of tender conditions. The walk-in house is a meeting place for people with a psychological and/or intellectual disability.
Familiar place
"We are pleased that we managed to keep the current location in the center. It is a familiar place for visitors," says spokesperson Nicole Donkervoort. The Salvation Army will initially run the walk-in for four years, with a possible two-year extension. The Salvation Army already has drop-in centers in other places in the Netherlands.
Earlier this year, in April, the Salvation Army took over the homeless shelter on Havenkade in Assen from Cosis. At that time, the reason was that, according to care institution Cosis, Social Care (MO) does not fit well with its own vision and strategy."
