Hop & Sting Brewing Company won both Best Brewery and Dog-Friendly in Southlake Style's 2023 Readers Choice, with a gallery screen capture of the announcement on their Facebook page. Fido is welcome both inside and outside, leashed and on the lower level only, and there is a sign near the stairway to remind you that the loft is for people only. If you need water and/or bowls or even treats, check with the staff at the counter.

Hours:

Sunday: 12 AM to 8 PM
Monday - Thursday: 3 AM to 10 PM
Friday - Saturday: 12 PM to 10 PM

There is an excellent selection here, with styles for everybody, including us old timers who aren't into beer where we can't taste the hops and malt. They've got nearly a dozen regulars on draft, and almost another two dozen seasonal offerings or special brews. For best results, check the monitor behind the bar to see what's current. There's also a cooler where you can get cans of their stuff to go with you.

There's actually a little more space outside than there is inside: The downstairs area has a nice view of the brewery, with the bar (where you order) and a few tables. There's also some upstairs seating, with an even better view of the brewery and a good look at downstairs, but when it's warm, the patio is a good place for a little more room.

They also provide secure, free wi-fi, and you can obtain the password at the bar. You're going to be hard-pressed to find places to plug in your gadgets, but the wi-fi signal is quite good, with exceptional download speeds.

Be sure to sign up for their free Pint Club, which is fairly non-invasive, and for the semi-regular emails you'll receive, you'll get a password you can give when you order to get $3 off your first beer on every visit.

They don't have their own kitchen, so they don't serve their own food -- sometimes you'll find a few snacks behind the counter -- but they regularly have third party vendors come in, and you can never go wrong. Ross Culinary is a favorite, and you'll see the Vaqueros Texas Bar-B-Q truck out in the parking lot. Check their website to see who'll be feeding you on your visit, and there you will also find the calendar for live events. It's also a good idea to follow them on Facebook for notifications about current events.

The service here is outstanding!
