The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Depot Division at Regina SK CAN. From 1885-1920, This Depot was the headquarters of the North-West Mounted Police, better known as the Mounties. After 1920, the Depot is where every Mountie goes through training.

From 1885-1920, this site was the headquarters of the North-West Mounted Police, now known as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. After 1920, this site was converted to the NWMP Training Division. To this day, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Depot in Regina is where every Mountie cadet begins their journey to don the famous red tunic of the Mounties.
The Depot Division allows public guided tram tours of its facility at no charge with admission to the adjacent RCMP Heritage Centre in Regina.

About Depot Division
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Academy, Depot Division, is located in Regina, Saskatchewan. It is in Treaty 4 Territory, the original lands of the Nêhiyawak (Cree), Anihšinapek (Saulteaux), Dakota, Lakota and Nakoda and the homeland of the Métis Nation.
We have been training members of our national police force since 1885, making us the oldest division in the RCMP.
From 1885 to 1920, Depot was the headquarters of the North West Mounted Police and then the Royal Northwest Mounted Police.
Cadet Training Program
The Cadet Training Program is an extensive 26-week basic training course, offered in both official languages. The cadet is part of a 32-member troop which is diverse in composition. Upon successfully completing the Cadet Training Program, cadets may be offered employment as members of the RCMP and given peace officer status. Once employed, they must then complete a six-month Field Coaching Program at selected training detachments where they are involved in everyday police duties under the supervision of a Field Coach.
The Cadet Training Program consists of 820 hours broken down as follows:
Applied Police Sciences: 432 hours
Firearms: 104 hours
Police Defensive Tactics / Immediate Action Rapid Deployment: 94 hours
Police Driving: 67 hours
Operational Conditioning: 45 hours
Drill and Deportment: 37 hours
Other: 41 hours"
