"Ce menhir, un des plus hauts de Bretagne ( 7,50 m), a été repéré dès 1836 par Prosper Mérimée dans ses notes de voyages dans l’ouest de la France et classé Monument historique en 1862. Il est remarquable par sa forme élancée et taillée en amande. Son âge est approximatif (de 4500 à 6000 ans). C’est le plein âge du fer en Bretagne, période de la préhistoire appelée le néolithique. En 2004, la découverte d’un plus petit menhir à proximité explique l’appellation du site « le Clos des Roches Longues." Source : (

(EN) "This menhir, one of the highest in Brittany (7.50 m), was spotted in 1836 by Prosper Mérimée in his travel notes in the west of France and classified as a Historic Monument in 1862. It is remarkable for its shape slender and almond-shaped. Its age is approximate (from 4500 to 6000 years). It is the full Iron Age in Brittany, a period of prehistory called the Neolithic.
