"The monument to the dead, donated by Count Georges de Lhomel and Le Souvenir français and made by the sculptor Aristide Croisy, was inaugurated in October 1912, was made in memory of the soldiers who died during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871 .

The choice fell on the Mobile model, soldier of the Mobile Guard.

Camped on a high stone plinth, the soldier, in bronze, is represented resting on his right leg, rifle in hand, ready to fire on the enemy."
