La fuente recibe el nombre del entorno, que es una hondanada o puchero, por lo que la fuente se llama Fuente Puchera o Fuente La Puchera, que que proviene de un manantial tradicional.
Recientemente se ha renovado creando un acceso en la zona sur a modo de anfiteatro en la fuente de manantial de un solo caño e integrando en la obra una fuente de consumo con triple grifería con conexión a la red de abastecimiento local en la zona norte.
