[FR] Cette très belle maison, caractéristique de l'architecture civile du XVIIème siècle, notamment par les linteaux légèrement cintrés de ses fenêtres, est l'une des demeures prestigieuses des magistrats du Présidial qui fut, aux XVIIème et XVIIIème siècles, le deuxième siège de justice de Touraine. C'est l'une des très rares maisons de Châtillon-sur-Indre qui porte, sur le linteau de sa porte d'entrée, la date de sa construction, gravée dans un cartouche inclus dans un étonnant décor provençal. Les parties enterrées de la maison témoignent d'un passé très ancien (XIIème siècle ?).

[EN] This beautiful house, characteristic of the civil architecture of the 17th century, notably by the slightly arched lintels of its windows, is one of the prestigious residences of the magistrates of the Présidial which was, in the 17th and 18th centuries, the second seat of justice in Touraine. It is one of the very few houses in Châtillon-sur-Indre that bears, on the lintel of its entrance door, the date of its construction, engraved in a cartouche included in an astonishing Provencal decoration. The buried parts of the house testify to a very ancient past (12th century?).
