A pair of millstones are on display on either side of the entrance to the Pelham Historical Society, located in the former Pelham Congregational Church. Each millstone is displayed vertically and supported by a triangular brace.
These millstones represent the two types of millstones. The millstone on the left of the entrance is a solid stone made of granite and dressed with the common quarter dressing. The millstone on the right is of the entrance is a composite millstone known as a French buhrstone. These type of stones are less common and are used for finer grinding of grain.
