This locomotive was built in the year 1900 at the Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia. Originally configured with an 0-4-0 wheel arrangement, it was converted to an 0-4-4 somewhere along the way. Also, at some point, she picked up the nickname ‘Ann.’

For many years this locomotive was part of William E. Butler’s private collection of narrow-gauge sugar plantation locomotives, although this one was originally the property of a brick manufacturer. When that collection was sold, this particular locomotive was placed on display at a small museum in Lutcher, LA. It was recently moved a little over a mile to its current location. ‘Ann’ now greets visitors to St. James Parrish who stop by the visitor’s center along U.S. Route 61.
