Monocacy Junction
The Georgetown Pike, the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, and the Monocacy River converged at Monocacy Junction. Here a branch line of the Railroad was extended to Frederick. During the Battle of Monocacy, Union skirmishers held the junction throughout most of the day.
