The purpose of this cabinet is to be an exchange for those who have something to spare (and can leave some things in the cabinet) and those who do not have much (and they can take some things which are necessary for them).
When I was here (March 28th 2023), I noticed canned goods (eg corn), onions, packages of soup, pasta sauce, crackers, packages of mashed potatoes spagetti and many other things. A majority of the items can be held for a longer period of time.
The location is next to the pharmacy on the skirts of the small hamlet. A good location for dropping off and taking items. It is not very visible for all to see. I could understand that it is not a nice thing to have to take from the cupboard.
The cupboard itself has no lock or anything on it. It is made from wood/glass and can be opened 24/7
