The mill in Holzlar is a historic mill which was driven by waterpower. The mill has been renewed by a association founded in 1988. The first mill in Holzlar was built in 1509 and was operating till the 1950s. Since 1989 it can be visited. The millstones waymarked here is placed outside the building and is made of basalt, most probably from the Eifel, the area which is famous for its millstones.
Next to these two millstones another one has been placed. It has been found in the river Rhine and is a green body which came from the Eifel, most probably from Mendig or Mayen.
