In general, metal detecting is permitted when patrons are not using the area for the purpose it was designed. Do not metal detect in any manner which impedes picnickers, hikers, campers, or other park users.

All holes are a safety concern and must be filled in by detector.

Detecting is permitted at pavilion areas only if the pavilion is not being currently used.

The beach is off-limits to detecting whenever swimmers or sunbathers are present.

The Kiln areas may contain historical artifacts, and are closed to metal detecting.

There may be times when a patron asks state park staff for assistance in recovering a lost item. If you are interested in providing this assistance please let them know on the permit form.
