La iglesia fue construida durante los siglos XVI a XVIII y es una iglesia de grandes dimensiones.? En 1574 el maestro cantero cántabro Juan de Nates interviene en su cimentación.2? La portada plateresca a los pies sobre la que se levanta una torre que quedó inconclusa. Planta de salón con 3 naves neoclásicas. En el lado norte se abre la capilla del conde de Rivadavia, con bóvedas renacentistas, cerrada por una buena reja plateresca. En el interior de la iglesia se guarda una imagen de la Inmaculada, copia de otra original de Gregorio Fernández, así como un monumental Ecce Homo de madera, del siglo XVII. En el exterior se abre un arco en las dependencias del templo por debajo del cual pasa la carretera.
The church was built during the 16th to 18th centuries and is a large church. In 1574 the Cantabrian master stonemason Juan de Nates intervened in its foundations.2 The Plateresque doorway at the foot of which stands a tower that was left unfinished. Living room plan with 3 neoclassical naves. On the north side is the chapel of the Count of Rivadavia, with Renaissance vaults, closed by a good Plateresque grill. Inside the church there is an image of the Immaculate Conception, a copy of another original by Gregorio Fernández, as well as a monumental wooden Ecce Homo from the 17th century. Outside, an arch opens into the temple premises, under which the road passes.
