1STLT JOHN H. HARDEN JR.
John H. (Jay) Harden Jr. was commissioned a second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force in 1966. He advanced to first lieutenant and served as a navigator on B-52 bombers from September 1968 to March 1969 as the US expanded air campaigns in Southeast Asia. After the war, he used his navigation and flight experience to develop maps and charts for the USAF's Aeronautical Chart and Information Center and later on the Defense Mapping Agency in St. Louis as the last USAF cartographic officer and then as a civilian.
