Congregational Church of South Hadley Falls was organized in 1824 by a dissenting group of members that refused to join the 1st Congregational Church and built their own church in 1835. Both churches coexisted until the 1st Congregational Church was sold to the Methodist. In 1947 the church was destroyed by fire and was replaced in 1948 with the present building. The Congregational Church of South Hadley Falls was sold to the The Morning Star Community Baptist Church on August 14, 2014.
The L shaped brick building has a corner tower with five stages. The entrance is located on the west side of the base of the tower. The entrance has a split scroll design above the door. Above is a multi-pane window with a rounded top. The third stage is a square tower with circular windows. Above is an octagonal belfry with louvered windows with rounded tops. The tower is topped by a tapered octagonal spire.
Projecting to the north is a wing with a gable roof that is six bays long. The first five bays have large windows with rounded tops separated by Doric piasters. The sixth bay has a 3 by 5 pane double hung window. An addition projects to the north of the wing. Projecting to the west is a wing with a gable roof with four 4 by 8 pane double hung windows. The last bay has an auxiliary entrance. The gable end has a sign with the history of the building. It is inscribed:
